Leila spent years working in fine jewellery - which means when she talks about a piece, she isn't just describing how it looks. She's talking about the gold, the stone, the decision behind every detail. She knows what it takes to make something well, and she notices when someone does.

It's that eye - trained, considered, genuinely passionate, and paired with a style entirely her own - that drew us to her. And it's what makes her collection of By Pariah pieces feel like more than accumulation. Each one chosen deliberately, worn constantly, added to over time.

Leila doesn't buy jewellery the way most people do. She builds. Piece by piece, layer by layer, each addition considered against what came before. Her By Pariah collection has grown gradually - a sculptural pendant here, a stacking ring there - designed to sit together, to work on top of each other, to tell a story that gets richer with each new chapter.

She talks about layering the way a designer would: thinking about shape, scale, the relationship between an architectural piece and something more organic. The smoky quartz, the agate, the vintage references. Nothing accidental.

When Leila named her daughter Carnelian Agate, she wasn't just choosing a name. She was choosing a world - warm, earthy, quietly extraordinary. So when we made her the Diamond Pebble Pendant in red carnelian agate, it felt less like a commission and more like something that had always been waiting to exist.
